Role Overview
As an Estimator at Fire Door Inspection Solutions, you will help turn inspection findings and project requirements into clear, accurate quotations for fire door remedial works, upgrades and replacements. Working closely with colleagues and clients, you will assess the information available, identify the most appropriate solution and ensure each quotation reflects the scope of work required.
This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Mansfield site. We welcome applications from experienced estimators as well as people with strong numerical, analytical or commercial skills who are looking to develop within the specialist fire door industry.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and detailed quotations for fire door remedial works, replacements and upgrades.
- Review specifications, drawings, inspection information and supporting project documentation.
- Assess project requirements and determine the materials, labour and services needed.
- Manage and prioritise incoming enquiries to ensure quotations are completed within the required timescales.
- Work with internal teams to clarify requirements and develop practical, appropriate solutions.
- Communicate with clients professionally and help maintain strong working relationships.
- Use internal and external systems to analyse information and produce tailored quotations.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure relevant information is captured throughout the estimating process.
- Develop your knowledge of fire door standards, regulations and industry best practice.
What we’re looking for
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- The ability to review technical information and identify key project requirements.
- Confidence managing several enquiries, priorities and deadlines at the same time.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues across different departments.
- Confidence using digital systems, with experience of estimating software being beneficial.
- A willingness to learn and build specialist knowledge of fire doors and compliance.
- Previous estimating experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Fire door, construction or building compliance knowledge would be beneficial, although full training will be provided.

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Fire Door Replacement Specification Manager to lead the technical specification process for fire door replacement projects across the UK.
This key leadership role is responsible for ensuring customer requirements are translated into compliant, manufacturable fire door solutions while driving quality, consistency and right-first-time delivery.
Working closely with customers and internal teams, you will oversee projects from order placement through to manufacturing release, as well as lead our Surveying Team and Ironmongery function.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the fire door replacement specification process from order placement through to manufacturing release.
- Translate customer requirements into compliant and practical fire door solutions.
- Act as the technical link between customers, sales, surveying, ironmongery, manufacturing and operations teams.
- Ensure specifications align with certification requirements, fire test evidence and approved manufacturing capabilities.
- Review survey information, identify technical risks and ensure project information is accurate and complete.
- Develop and manage project schedules to ensure projects are fully prepared before manufacture.
- Lead and support the Surveying Team and Ironmongery Manager, maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
- Collaborate with operational and supply chain teams to support successful project delivery.
- Drive continuous improvements that reduce rework, improve accuracy and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Promote a culture of compliance, technical excellence and right-first-time delivery.
What we’re looking for
- At least five years’ experience within the fire door industry.
- Experience in fire door replacement, surveying, specification, manufacturing, installation or technical project delivery.
- Strong understanding of fire door regulations, certification requirements, fire test evidence and industry best practice.
- The ability to interpret customer requirements and develop compliant technical solutions.
- Knowledge of fire door ironmongery, hardware compatibility and complete door assemblies.
- Proven experience leading teams and improving operational performance.
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
- An IFE Level 3 qualification or equivalent fire door qualification is desirable.

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Small Works Manager to lead our growing Small Works Division.
This key leadership role will oversee customer orders valued below £10,000, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly and to a consistently high standard of customer service.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will lead the help desk, labour planning and operational teams, ensuring resources are used effectively and projects progress efficiently from receipt of order through to completion and invoicing.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Small Works Division, maintaining high standards across all projects.
- Oversee a high volume of customer orders from mobilisation through to successful completion.
- Manage and develop the helpdesk and planning functions to deliver excellent customer service.
- Ensure customers receive regular communication and clear progress updates throughout their projects.
- Drive effective labour planning, resource utilisation and operational productivity.
- Maintain oversight of live small works contracts, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly and on time.
- Ensure documentation, RAMS and compliance records are accurate and meet company and regulatory requirements.
- Support continuous improvements across processes, systems and operational performance.
- Lead, coach and develop operational teams, promoting accountability, teamwork and high performance.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience managing a high-volume operational or service delivery function.
- Experience leading customer service, helpdesk or service delivery teams.
- Strong workforce planning and resource management experience.
- Experience managing customer relationships and service delivery contracts.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to improve productivity and performance.
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong commitment to customer service, compliance and operational control.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Experience within construction, fire safety, facilities management or another compliance-led environment would be advantageous.
